Share the history of the Door County Bookmobile! As a docent, you will assist the Program Coordinator with on-site education by setting up presentations, being present at the Bookmobile, and sharing its history with patrons. Docents will also stock the vehicle with all marketing materials such as brochures and banners and ensuring any books to be used or given away are properly stocked.
The Bookmobile will be at various locations throughout the county, all days of the week, and visits are 3-5 hours in length.
Training: Each volunteer will receive training on the history and mission of the Door County Bookmobile. In addition, Docents will be trained how to give presentations about the Door County Bookmobile, including use of technology, hand outs, and set up and take down for presentations.
Requirements: Comfortable in talking with small and large groups. Ability to lift, pull, bend, and engage in light general physical labor associated with books and presenting.
This opportunity is Seasonal: April – October, 1-2 times a week. The majority of the engagements are scheduled for weekends.
